Column Networks for Collective Classification

چکیده
Relational learning deals with data that are characterized by relational structures. An important task is collective classification, which is to jointly classify networked objects. While it holds a great promise to produce a better accuracy than noncollective classifiers, collective classification is computational challenging and has not leveraged on the recent breakthroughs of deep learning. We present Column Network (CLN), a novel deep learning model for collective classification in multirelational domains. CLN has many desirable theoretical properties: (i) it encodes multi-relations between any two instances; (ii) it is deep and compact, allowing complex functions to be approximated at the network level with a small set of free parameters; (iii) local and relational features are learned simultaneously; (iv) longrange, higher-order dependencies between instances are supported naturally; and (v) crucially, learning and inference are efficient, linear in the size of the network and the number of relations. We evaluate CLN on multiple real-world applications: (a) delay prediction in software projects, (b) PubMed Diabetes publication classification and (c) film genre classification. In all applications, CLN demonstrates a higher accuracy than state-of-the-art rivals.

This study aims to achieve a semiotic understanding of collective memory of the Iran-Iraq war. For this purpose, samples of images in virtual social networks shared in response to the news of discovery and return of the bodies of more than 175 divers have been analyzed. Visual signs in photographs, cartoons, graphic designs, prints, paintings and posters, in methods of historical pictures and f...
متن کاملCollective Classification with Relational Dependency Networks
Collective classification models exploit the dependencies in a network of objects to improve predictions. For example, in a network of web pages, the topic of a page may depend on the topics of hyperlinked pages. A relational model capable of expressing and reasoning with such dependencies should achieve superior performance to relational models that ignore such dependencies. In this paper, we ...

Classification of heart arrhythmia is an important step in developing devices for monitoring the health of individuals. This paper proposes a three module system for classification of electrocardiogram (ECG) beats. These modules are: denoising module, feature extraction module and a classification module. In the first module the stationary wavelet transform (SWF) is used for noise reduction of ...
متن کاملMulti-Label Collective Classification
Collective classification in relational data has become an important and active research topic in the last decade, where class labels for a group of linked instances are correlated and need to be predicted simultaneously. Collective classification has a wide variety of real world applications, e.g. hyperlinked document classification, social networks analysis and collaboration networks analysis...
متن کاملRejection of the Feed-Flow Disturbances in a Multi-Component Distillation Column Using a Multiple Neural Network Model-Predictive Controller
This article deals with the issues associated with developing a new design methodology for the nonlinear model-predictive control (MPC) of a chemical plant. A combination of multiple neural networks is selected and used to model a nonlinear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) process with time delays. An optimization procedure for a neural MPC algorithm based on this model is then developed. T...
